Enjoy West End productions right here in Solihull as we continue to add National Theatre Live screenings to our 2025 line up!

NT Live: The Importance of Being Earnest comes to the big screen at The Core Theatre on Thursday 15 May. Enjoy a spectacular adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s most celebrated comedy starring Sharon D Clarke, Ncuti Gatwa and Hugh Skinner. Directed by Max Webster, this joyful reimagining of a classic comedy is an hilarious story of identity, impersonation and romance, filmed live from the National Theatre in London.

Then, on Thursday 5 June, a thrilling adaptation of one of Tennessee Williams’ most enduring plays comes to The Core Theatre - NT Live: A Streetcar Named Desire. This critically acclaimed 2014 production is returning to cinemas for an encore, led by Gillian Anderson, Vanessa Kirby and Ben Foster. There will be an additional screening on Wednesday 16 July.

On Wednesday 18 June, join us for a screening of NT Live: Dr Strangelove. Seven-time BAFTA Award-winner Steve Coogan plays four roles in the world premiere stage adaptation of Stanley Kubrick’s comedy masterpiece. This explosively funny satire, about a rogue U.S General who triggers a nuclear attack, is led by a world-renowned creative team including Armando Iannucci and Sean Foley.

Jumping forward to September, NT Live: Inter Alia is the unmissable new play from the team behind global phenomenon Prima Facie. Inter Alia stars Rosmund Pike as a smart Crown Court Judge at the top of her career. When an event threatens to throw her life completely off balance, can she hold her family upright? The Core Theatre will be screening this much-anticipated, gripping new play by Suzie Miller on Wednesday 24 September and Wednesday 5 November.

We’re counting down the days until the grand reopening of The Core Theatre in May – we can’t wait to welcome you back! View our full programme of what’s on in 2025 or call the box office on 0121 704 6962 for more information and to book tickets.
