Make 2025 a fresh start and choose from a range of new classes and courses at The Core.

The Core offers a friendly and welcoming environment to try out new activities, develop your skills and meet new people with a wide range of classes, courses and workshops.

Unleash your creative side and learn how to paint beautiful watercolours with a four-week daytime Floral Watercolour Course (Wednesday mornings from 8 January) - led by local artist and tutor Swati Sinha. All abilities welcome.

Professional journalist Wersha Bharadwa leads the ten-week Creative Writing course (Monday evenings from 13 January). You'll learn about different styles and formats of prose including fiction and non-fiction, generating, and developing ideas, genre, dialogue, structure, setting, narrative voice and lots more. More experienced writers wishing to further develop their skills can join The Write Space (Thursday evenings from 16 January).

Is your child an enthusiastic story teller, budding poet, author or intrepid podcaster or reporter? Younger writers aged 7-11 can join the brand new Young Solihull Writers course (Wednesdays after school from 15 January)

If you’ve ever wanted to be a stand-up comedian, the ten-week From Couch to Comedy course (Monday evenings from 13 January), led by comedian Rachel Sambrooks will take you through creative ways of writing and performing your own material and building your confidence on stage, before you perform your very own stand up slot to an audience of friends and family!

The Core Youth Theatre is a fantastic opportunity for children and young people to develop their theatre skills and creativity in a fun, and engaging environment. The group meets every Thursday from 16 January from 4.30pm-5.30pm (ages 7-10) and 5.45pm-7.15pm (ages 11-16).

The ten-week Introduction to Acting for Adults course (Thursday evenings from 16 January) will help improve your acting skills in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. The course includes group exercises, drama games and improvisation, along with a range of approaches to acting techniques.

Embark on a journey of cultural exploration in the ten-week Chinese Calligraphy course (Thursday evenings from 16 January), where you’ll learn the stylised artistic writing of this ancient art form.
