This critically acclaimed play is an irreverent, fast-paced romp through the Bard's 37 plays! Join these madcap performers in tights as they weave their way through all of Shakespeare's Comedies, Histories and Tragedies in one wild ride that will leave you breathless and helpless with laughter.

NOTICE! The National Production Company takes no responsibility for any loss of blood pressure, brain cells or partners during the proceedings. This is a high paced action-packed thrill ride, and we ask that; should the intense hurtling speed of the Shakespearean canon and our majestic performances cause you to vomit and burst into flames, please refrain from screaming too loudly so as not to affect the enjoyment of those around you. May the Bard be with you.

 

Age Recommendation: Comic depictions of violence, mild innuendo, bawdy language, and the occasional rude word. All children (and adults) are different, but we’ve chosen to rate our show 12+.

Further Information: The show parodies William Shakespeare's plays. Three actors comically perform condensed versions of Shakespeare's writings, even merging some of the plays together. The fourth wall is regularly broken with the actors speaking directly to the audience during much of the play. Some scenes involve audience participation, not to mention the stage crew!

With references to pop culture, local people and places, this can resonate well with local audiences, giving this a stand-up comedy feel. Maybe think Shakespeare with a panto feel. People who hate Shakespeare have been inspired to see a play of his as a result of seeing this show.

Festival 36 is part of the ‘Everything to Everybody’ Project -­‐ an ambitious three-­year celebration of one of the UK’s most important cultural assets: the vast Shakespeare Memorial Library housed within the Library of Birmingham. Everything to Everybody will give the city’s uniquely democratic Shakespeare heritage back to the people, and is a collaboration between the University of Birmingham and Birmingham City Council, with funding also contributed by National Lottery Heritage Fund and History West Midlands.
