Aimed at ages 13+, Youth Art Workshops give you an opportunity to produce powerful and expressive art and to find your voice.
You will be encouraged to develop your personal style and build your confidence using a wide range of media and materials. Subject matter will be developed with you allowing you to explore youth culture and the things that matter to you. This is a chance to become part of a pioneering new platform for Youth Arts in Solihull. Help design and shape the identity and direction of Youth Arts. In addition to skills development in the arts, this is a fabulous opportunity to develop leadership and communication skills and collaborate with others to raise the profile of issues that matter to you. Be it climate change, civil rights, hip hop or punk -use the arts to explore where you stand or become an arts activist!
Art at the Heart CIC is led by qualified art and design lecturers with 25+ years of experience working with youth groups in award winning art departments teaching a broad range of arts qualifications. If you’re studying art, the workshops can support GCSE/A-Level arts subjects. Alternatively, you can work towards Arts Awards at Explore, Bronze, Silver and (soon Gold) levels. Gold Arts Award carries 16 UCAS tariff points.
You don’t need to be studying art at school to attend or be interested in arts careers. Making art is a mindful activity – it helps to increase our sense of wellbeing.
